Deacon bolstered by Dens home comforts

-

Dundee winger Roarie Deacon has admitted that the Dark Blues are already taking comfort from playing at home.

Four of their five Premiership points have been won at Dens Park – three against St Johnstone and one versus Hibs.

Improving on their not-soimpressive one point on the road will be the priority after the international break but, for this weekend, they can take heart from the fact that they are back on their own turf.

Hearts are up next, with Deacon saying: “I think as a team it’s on our minds subconsciously that we play better at home.

“We’ve done very well at home this season. We picked up the point against Hibs, beat St Johnstone and I think we’ve been unlucky in the other games, too.

“As a team we want to improve on the Kilmarnock game, put things right and pick up the three points. “We know we can do a lot better. “We go again on Saturday. There will be a good crowd which will hopefully help us get the win.”

He added: “Sooner or later we’ll click as a team much better. We’ve got a lot of new players in and everyone’s gelling.

“In the league we’ve been good most weeks. We know that Kilmarnock wasn’t our greatest performance but we just have to put that right.”

Dundee are the new leaders of the development league after beating Kilmarnock 2-1. Jack Lambert got both goals.
