Judy Murray to help serve up bumper book week
Book Week Scotland is serving up an ace at ONFife libraries next month.
It is nearing that time of year again when readers across the region can join in a celebration of the written word by booking a place at an event from November 27 to December 1.
Among the authors and personalities taking part are Judy Murray, who will appear at the Lochgelly Centre on November 30, and Dundonian cookery and food writer Sue Lawrence who will be at Kirkcaldy Galleries on November 28.
Echoing the Book Week Scotland 2017 theme of Nourish, Fife will be offering a variety of events which will cater to reading tastes of all ages.
Whether it is the breadmaking and poetry workshop, turning detective at the murder mystery event, enjoying a taste of cheese, wine and horror or joining a reading lunch, there will be something to satisfy every appetite in libraries across Fife.
Service development team leader Yvonne Melville said: “We’re delighted to be taking part in Book Week Scotland again this year, giving everyone in the community an opportunity to indulge their love of reading.
“We’d particularly love to see readers coming along to the reading lunches, taking time out of a busy day to relax with their lunch while listening to readings – what better way to feed the soul?”
She added the week was the perfect chance to sign up for free library membership, or dig out your old library card.
Initiated by the Scottish Government and funded by Creative Scotland, Book Week Scotland will be delivered by Scottish Book Trust.
