Fish supper fundraising success

-

Kinghorn RNLI lifeboat’s annual fish supper night raised £700.

Now in its third year, the national RNLI Fish Supper campaign is held in support of the charity. More than 70 people enjoyed fish and chips in the Kinghorn station’s boat hall.

Event organiser and volunteer crew member Mel McGarva said: “I was really excited for the 2017 event and looking to build on the success of the first two in 2015 and 2016. I set a target to raise £500, but managed to raise an amazing £700.”

Last year photographer Kirsty McLachlan documented the work of Kinghorn RNLI in a series of images.

Mel continued: “This year we were also able to exhibit photos taken by Kirsty McLachlan during her photography degree.

“These amazing images showed the crew and fundraising team at work, and were positively received by our supporters.

“I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along to support us on the night, including Valente’s Fish and Chip Bar which supplied the fish suppers with a generous discount.

“The money raised when you host a fish supper supports all aspects of our life-saving work and could help us buy kit for our crew members or fuel for one of our lifeboats.”

The next fundraising event will be a series of Halloweenthemed Spooky Walks. Visit kinghorn.org.uk for details.
