Endless Acres can go distance in Cesarewitch

Trainer’s decision to hold back his charge can pay dividends

- by THE FERRET

ENDLESS ACRES can prove the solution to the perennial tricky puzzle that is the Betfred Cesarewitch at Newmarket.

Charlie Fellowes has kept back his charge with this race in mind and it could be dangerous to ignore that fact.

He will be having just his fifth start of the year and his first since chasing home the unstoppable Thomas Hobson in the Ascot Stakes in June.

Fellowes’ decision to keep his powder dry can pay dividends with the slight drop back to two-and-a-quarter miles a likely plus.

EMARAATY can claim the scalps of some high-profile rivals by completing a swift graduation to Group One level in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes.

John Gosden’s charge is not the most obvious winner on the ratings, but it was hard not to be impressed with his recent effortless victory at Newbury.

His initial run was a bit disappointing as he could finish only fourth at Sandown last month.

However, the outing had clearly put his head straight and he was all business in Berkshire.

Emaraaty travelled all over his rivals that day and barely had to move out of a canter to win.

FOREST RANGER hit the crossbar at York’s Ebor meeting but can make hay in the closing Darley Club Stakes.

He has performed with credit since landing a nice pay day at Newcastle back in the spring and the conditions of this race put him in the driving seat.

SHABAABY should take a good deal of beating in the coral.co.uk Rockingham Stakes at York. SELECTIONS: NEWMARKET: 1.50 Dee Ex Bee, 2.25 Purser, 3.00 EMARAATY (NAP), 3.40 Endless Acres, 4.15 Nobleman’s Nest, 4.50 Pixeleen, 5.25 Forest Ranger.

YORK: 2.05 Master Carpenter, 2.40 Shabaaby, 3.15 Stake Acclaim, 3.50 Book Of Dreams, 4.25 Agar’s Plough, 5.00 Opposition, 5.30 Dance King.

DOUBLE: Emaraaty and Endless Acres.
