Neave hat-trick sets Blair on their way against Vics
Darren Neave hit a hattrick for Blairgowrie as they won 4-2 away at Arbroath Vics but it was far from easy for Mark Brash’s side.
Neave put Blair in front after just six minutes but two goals from Craig Watson saw Vics lead at the break.
Neave levelled it up just after half-time and completed his hat-trick with eight minutes left. Gary Axworthy made sure of the win with three minutes remaining.
Brechin Vics boss Phil McGuire described his side’s first hour against East Craigie as the worst he has seen in his time at the club but urged his young side to build on the experience and learn from their mistakes
East Craigie romped to a 6-1 win. Adam Brown put the Shipbuilders in front before Lee Maloney made it 2-0. Further goals came from Nik Mann, with a brace, Jim Malone and Brown again. Bailey Dawson scored his first goal at junior level for Vics.
Dundee North End romped to victory at home to struggling Newburgh.
Kieran Sturrock put his side in front before Ryan Smith doubled the advantage, Andy Ballantine made it 3-0 and Cammy McMahon hit the fourth.
Ryan Hunter scored the fifth goal to complete a comfortable afternoon.
Forfar Albion were a little unlucky not to follow up the victory over Coupar Angus with at least a point at Tulloch Park against Kinnoull.
Mark Caldwell put Albion in front on five minutes and his side looked to be in control until both sides were reduced to 10 men just after the half-hour mark.
Kinnoull equalised four minutes into the second half when Cameron Robertson scored from the spot and then took the lead on the hour, again from a Robertson penalty.
Adam Fraser levelled it up for Albion on 65 minutes but Ben Ragen restored the Kinnoull lead with what proved to be the winner five minutes later.
Albion manager David Thompson resigned after the game and said: “Club matters should be discussed in the boardroom and not in public after a game.”
A David Byrne goal for Lochore Welfare midway through the first half was enough to give his side victory at home to Coupar Angus.
Luncarty, meanwhile, went top of the table thanks to a Dale Smart goal at home to Lochee Harp.
The win sees Jonny Kelly’s men leapfrog Dundee Violet into first place in the North League
Luncarty went top partly due to the help given by Perthshire neighbours Scone Thistle, who beat leaders Violet at Farquharson Park. Ross Mitchell put the Jags in front on 26 minutes and Arran MacKay made it two just before half-time.
Violet pulled a goal back straight after the break, through Ben Middleton, but despite their attempts they couldn’t get level.
