Fifers are in the top four and there to stay: Young

East Fife manager Darren Young is targeting a victory at Alloa as they aim to keep hold of a place in the promotion-chasing play-off pack.

Young said: “We made it into the top four last weekend and having done that we want to stay there.

“It was a strange way to do it by winning a game 5-4 against an Albion Rovers team I used to manage, however we have something to hold on to now in the league starting at Alloa.

“I know Alloa as a club well and they will be viewing this game as a chance to kickstart their season.

“Some of the boys I played with are still there and they will be disappointed at where they are in the table.

“They are concentrating on getting the three points that will start changing that but hopefully we can get the better of them.”

The Bayview side will travel to the Indodrill Stadium with a spring in their step after last Saturday’s rollercoaster success, with Young saying: “It was great to see the spirit amongst the players.

“They could have accepted that they were going to get beat at 4-2 in the final 10 minutes however they kept on going.

“They did not even settle for a draw and got the win.”

“Whilst all of that was great we have to remember that we gave away cheap goals.

“Two of the goals came from set pieces and another one came from our goalkeeper and centre half bumping into each other.

“The good thing is that losing goals like that can be easily fixed and hopefully we have done that on the training ground this week.”

Craig Watson misses out after being injured against the Coatbridge side with Jonathan Page absent due to suspension, with Young hoping to add a defensive loan signing before kick-off.
