Luncarty hoping to sink Shipbuilders in top clash

-

Leaders Luncarty are away to East Craigie in the game of the day.

The Shipbuilders have only played one home game but remain in promotion contention and after last week’s 6-1 win over Brechin they are likely to be along the same lines.

Second-placed Violet have fourthplaced Kinnoull as their guests and both sides have personnel problems.

The Pansies are without six of their squad, but the Perth team’s plight is even worse, being eight down.

Brechin Vics’ young side are at home to in-form North End.

Vics boss Phil Maguire will be hoping last week’s 6-1 defeat to East Craigie won’t have any after effects.

The Dokens’ only absentee is Michael Stewart.

Coupar Angus welcome Blairgowrie and add returning pair Jake Tulloch and Stuart Banks as well as a couple of trialists to their squad, but Joe Sturrock and Ross Nicholson again miss out.

After a fine win at Arbroath last week, Blair add Gordon Norrie to their squad.

Following Dave Thomson’s resignation last week, Forfar Albion have appointed Mark Caldwell as manager.

Previously their player/coach, he has yet to decide whether to continue playing.

For his first game at home to in-form Scone Thistle, his biggest problem is replacing keeper Gary Grant, who was outstanding last week, but is now ruled out through injury for six weeks.

Thistle welcome back Charlie Fertacz from suspension, but Craig Mitchell is doubtful.

Harp are without Graham Allan and Darren Brown for the visit of Arbroath Vics, but hope to include a new signing.

Vics are without Scott McDowell, Josh Chalmers and Jordan Will as well as Ricky Gillespie after he was transfer listed.

At Newburgh there is an all-Fife affair with Lochore Welfare the visitors and the contrast in form between the pair could not be starker.

Burgh have lost their last four games, shipping 25 goals in the process, while Welfare, who have the same squad available, are hoping to make it four wins out of four.
