Grove take on new boys
Grove Menzieshill are secure in mid-table in the National First Division – but this is a far cry from their title challenging ambitions.
Newly-promoted Inverleith have yet to pick up a point and so should provide little resistance for Menzieshill.
Dundee Wanderers face Edinburgh University, who have only one win to their credit but, other than conceding six goals to leaders Kelburne last week, have generally competed well.
Perthshire and St Andrews University are well placed in fourth and fifth in Division 2 and clash at St Andrews.
A win for the students would put them above Perthshire with a game in hand.
Harris are having a torrid time with five straight defeats but might just have a chance of ending that drought against Glasgow University, also pointless but after four games.
Monarchs, with two wins and three defeats, also fall into the ‘must do better’ category. Whether they can turn it on against an Aberdeen Grammar team accustomed to trying for promotion is questionable.
Menzieshill II and Kelburne II clash in Central Division 1.
Menzieshill are finding the going more testing than last year in Division 2, while Kelburne would normally be challenging for the title, not being content with a mid-table position.
Wanderers II are also mid-table, but in Central 2 having entered this season.
They may not have had Menzieshill’s aspirations to gain immediate promotion but may have to settle for that status just now as they face an Inverleith II team challenging at the top.
