TV and film company to expand after funding

A Scottish firm whose work includes the television hit Outlander has announced plans to expand, creating new jobs in the screen sector.

Blazing Griffin has used £200,000 of funding from Scottish Enterprise to set up a post-production facility at their new Glasgow premises.

The facility will help to create 14 permanent new jobs.

The company – whose recent credits also include television shows Shetland, Still Game, Our Girl, and forthcoming feature film Anna and the Apocalypse – currently has around 45 staff based in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London.

It specialises in providing end-to-end post production which includes editing suites, 4K HDR colour grading, online and finishing services.

Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop said: “Blazing Griffin is a prime example of the health of Scotland’s thriving screen sector.

“Productions are being attracted to Scotland because of our stunning locations, but also the wealth of talent that is needed to create worldclass productions.

“The Scottish Government is helping to build on this success story by doubling public sector investment in the film and screen sector. This will bring total public funding for screen development, production and growth to £20m in next year’s budget.”
