One person has been seriously injured following a crash involving two cars and a motorbike.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A93 at Guildtown at around 2.45pm yesterday.

Police, fire and air ambulance crews are all understood to have been in attendance.

Officers described the crash as “serious” but were last night unable to give further details on the condition of the other people involved.

One local woman, who asked not to be named, said the incident had been at a “really bad double bend” and “a terrible bit of road”.

She said: “We weren’t home when the crash happened but by the time we got back, the road was full of police cars and ambulances.

“It’s a horrible bend there and I know a lot of people who have had near misses.”

Another resident said the crash had left neighbouring backroads in a state of “absolute mayhem” and warned other motorists to avoid the area entirely.

Investigators are understood to have worked late into the evening to piece together the circumstances of the crash.

The road remained closed for several hours, with traffic being diverted through St Martins.

A source from Perth and Kinross Council said that while no signed diversions were put in place, officers had directed vehicles.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were there on standby as there was a concern one of the vehicles could catch on fire.”

A police spokesman said they were able to reopen the route at around 6.55pm.

A further crash was reported in the same area at around 7.30pm although police said they had not been made aware of it.
