New CEO for brightsolid
Scottish digital data centre group brightsolid has appointed Elaine Van Der Berg as its new chief executive.
Currently managing director of Capita’s business simulation and transformation group G2G3, Mrs Van Der Berg will take up the helm at Dundee-headquartered brightsolid in January.
In more than 20 years in the IT sector, Mrs Van Der Berg has worked in a number of senior leadership positions in Europe, Asia Pacific and Australia.
Prior to her role with G2G3, Mrs Van Der Berg was director of business operations for Optus and held a number of roles at computer giant DELL.
“Elaine will help us to build on the productivity, efficiency and dynamism of brightsolid,” chairman Ellis Watson said. “Our bright and solid team is on a mission to surpass expectations and it’s a genuine pleasure to have strengthened the team for the next exciting phase with the appointment of such an experienced leader.”
Mrs Van Der Berg said: “I’m so looking forward to joining the amazing team at brightsolid in January but will also miss the hugely talented bunch at G2G3.” Morrisons has reported another quarter of rising sales as the supermarket said it was working hard to limit the impact of soaring Brexit-related food costs.
Group like-for-like sales grew 2.5% in the 13 weeks to October 29.
CEO David Potts, who is overseeing a turnaround of the business, said: “We are pleased with a further step up in our competitiveness and another period of positive like-for-like sales growth.
“I am confident our plans to keep serving customers better will enable us to continue the strong momentum of the year so far, into the important fourth quarter.”
