Vics bounce back

-

Arbroath Vics, on the end of a heavy defeat last week, trounced Coupar Angus 6-0 at Ogilvy Park.

Ryan Robb helped himself to a hat-trick with Kellon Lyons, Sam Clark and Ryan Lewis weighing in with a goal apiece. The Coupar Angus side finished the game with only eight men.

Brechin Vics opened up a five-point gap to Coupar Angus with a 3-0 win at home to next-to-bottom Newburgh.

Rikki Gillespie put Phil McGuire’s side in front before an own goal made it 2-0. Matty Jones was on target with the third.

Violet went back to the top of the table with a 3-0 win over a disappointing East Craigie at Craigie Park.

Ben Middleton put Violet in front on 12 minutes and Bradie Heggie made it two 10 minutes later. Home hopes were killed off with 15 minutes to go as Gavin Thomson scored a third.

North End are only a point behind Violet and breathing down their neck after a 1-0 win over Lochore Welfare at North End Park. Ryan Hunter netted the winner for Ross Lunan’s side.

Kinnoull put a dent in Luncarty’s promotion hopes with a 3-2 win over their Perthshire rivals at Tulloch Park.

Kinnoull took the lead through a Greg Whyte penalty on 12 minutes and Luncarty were dealt a further blow on the halfhour when Danny Dobie was sent off.

However, 10 minutes before the break Steve McAllister scored from the spot to level things and five minutes later Dale Smart sent the visitors in at the break leading 2-1.

Noull surged back with the extra man and Whyte levelled it up from a freekick before a Darren Gray header gave Alan Cameron’s side the points.

Scone Thistle move above Luncarty on goal difference after they took a point from a 1-1 draw at home to Lochee Harp. Harp took the lead on 25 minutes through Jay Smart but 10 minutes after half-time Ben Moffat equalised for Thistle.

The game between Forfar Albion and Blairgowrie was postponed despite being given as much chance to recover from frost as possible.
