PLANNING: A Kirkcaldy office building could be turned into housing under new plans.

Fife Council has submitted proposals to transform Marwood House, a former council office block at the south end of St Clair Street, into five properties. NEWBURGH EXHIBITION: The Friends of the Laing has a display of photograph­s and articles on Newburgh’s social, industrial and town history in the Lower Laing Building.

The building is open from noon to 4pm on Sundays and Wednesdays. FOODBANK: Donations for Dunfermlin­e Foodbank at the recent harvest festival services held in Culross and Torryburn Parish Church totalled 115kg. PARTY: Ladybank Developmen­t Trust will host this year’s senior citizens’ Christmas party from 12.30pm onwards on Sunday December 3 in the Ladybank Tavern.

If you are interested in attending the free event, featuring a three-course meal, live music and comedian, add your name to the list in the local Spar shop.

The closing date for the list is November 26. CHRISTMAS LANTERNS: A Christmas lantern workshop will be held in Maker, Inverkeith­ing, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm tomorrow.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY: Kinghorn Historical Society’s next talk starts at 7.30pm on Thursday in Kinghorn Community Centre.

Phil Bate will give a talk on Scott, Shackleton and the Antarctic.
