Nursery praised by inspectors
A Fife nursery has been praised by inspectors for its positive partnerships with families.
Her Majesty’s Inspectorate said Paxton Nursery in Methil was able to provide effective support to children through a vibrant programme of learning.
This is due to long-standing and positive relationships with families, which leaves them feeling supported and recognised for the work they do.
Inspectors also commented on the enthusiastic, motivated and engaged children who enjoy their time in Paxton exploring their learning environment and progressing well.
The acting head of centre Annie Carr and depute head Sarah Douglas received specific praise for their “aspirational vision for improvement” and commitment to building staff skills with a team who are responsive and open to change.
In addition, the quality of family engagement and learning programmes was recognised for having a positive impact on families and the community.
As a result, families report high aspirations for their children and for themselves.
Ms Carr said she was delighted to receive such a positive report and was very proud of the achievements of the staff team.
She said she was particularly proud of the improvement made to outdoor learning, including regular visits to Silverburn, which helps children improve their health and wellbeing.
