MUSIC SOCIETY: Kirkcaldy Music Society welcomes saxophonist Jess Gillam to the Old Kirk at 7.30 tonight. At the age of 17 he won the woodwind final of the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition. CHRISTMAS CARDS: A Christmas card delivery system in Cupar in aid of Cupar Golf Club has opened.
Cards, with a suggested donation of 25p per card, can be dropped off at the golf club, Caring for Cupar, Libo’s Fish Bar or Gilmour’s. TALK: Markinch Heritage Group wil hear from Jess Smith who will give a talk entitled A Travelling Woman’s Memories of the Kingdom. It starts at 7pm tomorrow at 252 Memorial Hall, Betson Street, Markinch. BINGO: Duffus Park Bowling Club in Cupar is holding a prize bingo and Christmas raffle from 7pm tomorrow. Entry is £1.50 and all are welcome. TALK: Cupar Development Trust’s annual meeting will hear a talk by Richard Watson, from Rapier systems, on making Cupar visible in the online world.
The talk starts at 7pm tomorrow in Howe of Fife Rugby Club’s function room. TALENT SHOW: A capacity audience enjoyed the final of Fife United Inter Clubs Association’s talent contest in Bowhill Hotel which saw Valleyfield Club emerge as winners.
Singers Jim Penny and Tam Small received trophies and prizes from association treasurer Duncan Bain and secretary Jim Paul. TOWNHILL: Townhill Community Council’s annual children’s Christmas event was summed up by parents as being “absolutely brilliant”.
The village’s “three wise councillors”, Helen Law, Ian Ferguson and Gavin Ellis, opened the event.
