Blue Brazil determined to get first win under Bollan

Cowdenbeath head to Stirling Albion this afternoon determined to get their first win under manager Gary Bollan.

The Central Park side have not tasted success in the league since August.

Bollan said: “Every game we are involved with just now is a big game as it gives us the opportunity to get off the bottom of the table.

“We could be one win away from doing that, and hopefully that will come at Stirling,” he said.

“I know how good a side Stirling are from my time at Forfar,” he said.

“They will be disappointed at losing to Berwick last weekend and then to Peterhead in midweek and will be out to work hard and put that right.

“We have to be ready to match that and I believe that we can.”

The Blue Brazil were not in action last weekend as their game with Stenhousemuir was called off. However, Bollan ensured the players got game-time into their legs.

“We managed to play against a young Rangers side at Murray Park and it turned into a really useful exercise,” he said.

“I am pleased with the progress we have made in my first few weeks.

“I believe that we are a much stronger side defensively.

“That gives us a platform to build on, but we need to bring in an experienced striker to help us out.

“We have a number of very promising young forward players but they need someone to guide them through games.

“Hopefully we can pick up points between now and bringing someone in during January.”

David Syme returns from a ban, but Joe McGovern and Josh Morris are out.
