Appeal launched following theft from Kirkcaldy motorcycle shop
Police are appealing for witnesses following an overnight raid on a Kirkcaldy shop.
Motorcycle jackets worth £1,500 were stolen from the Coolforce premises in the town’s Commercial Street during the early hours of Thursday morning.
The break-in is thought to have happened around 4.40am, when 15 jackets were taken by the culprits.
Two males dressed in dark clothing were seen running from the scene and officers are now asking any potential witnesses to get in touch.
Detective Constable Mike Nodes said: “We’re keen to hear from anyone who noticed anything in the area at the time or who has information that can help us trace those responsible.
“Anyone who’s been offered a jacket like this for sale is also asked to get in touch by calling into Kirkcaldy police station, calling 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Meanwhile, officers in Fife have recorded their latest success as part of Operation Prospect, launched earlier this year to tackle drug crime in the region.
Officers from the Community Investigation Unit (CIU) searched an address in Alexandra Street, Dunfermline, on Thursday and seized a number of cannabis plants.
The total value of drugs recovered is estimated to be approximately £6,400.
A 65-year-old man has been arrested and charged and is scheduled to appear at Dunfermline Sheriff Court at a later date.
Sergeant Neil McGurk from Dunfermline CIU said officers were committed to tackling the misuse of drugs and drugrelated crime.
