Fife DJ ignored court order

-

A Fife man ignored a court order banning him from contacting a woman and within a week went with her to a hotel.

Jamie Ashmore was warned if there was any repeat he would spend Christmas in custody.

Ashmore, 20, of Laurel Road, Rosyth, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court and admitted he breached bail conditions imposed at Dunfermline Sheriff Court not to approach or contact the woman by repeatedly approaching and contacting her on December 10 at Sherbrooke Road, Rosyth, Bridge Street, Dunfermline, and elsewhere.

Defence solicitor Ian Beatson said: “The complainer contacted him and they had arranged to meet up.

Sheriff James MacDonald responded: “That’s all very well but he was on a court order granted on December 4.”

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said: “The complainer had booked a room in a local hotel.

“He was collected by her and a friend.”

Mr Beatson added: “He’s a DJ at local clubs. He appreciates he shouldn’t have responded to her contacting him.”

Sheriff McDonald told Ashmore: “I really don’t care about the relationship you have but what I do care about very much is people who don’t comply with court orders.

“I’m only just persuaded to allow you bail but if there’s any more of this you’ll be spending the festive season in custody.”

Ashmore returns to court for sentencing on January 24.
