TEA DANCE There will be a Christmas tea dance with jazz singer Grace Black and Ray Martine on keyboard in Cupar’s Old Parish Centre from 1pm to 3pm today.

FIFE DECORATIVE AND FINE ARTS Members of Fife Decorative and Fine Arts Society gathered in Cupar Corn Exchange for a fascinatin­g lecture on the history of stained glass windows told through depictions of the Christmas story.

Diana Lloyd illustrate­d the colours, design features and techniques employed by artists in the different eras. After the lecture, members enjoyed festive mince pies with tea and coffee.

The next lecture “A Life’s Work: From Fife to Fame” will be given by David Annand at 2pm on Tuesday January 9. New members and guests are always welcome.

SOCIETY TALK The next meeting of the Royal Scottish Geographic­al Society will take place at 7.30pm on Monday January 12 in the School of Midwifery, Forth Avenue, Kirkcaldy.

Felicity Ashton will use images, film and sound gathered during her travels from Scandinavi­a to Siberia. He talk is entitled “The Pole of Cold: A Journey to Chase Winter”.

Entry is £10 for nonmembers, £8 for Tiso card holders and free for members and students.

Jo Woolf gave an illustrate­d talk, “The Great Horizon: Stories of Exploratio­n from RSGS” to the Kirkcaldy branch of the RSGS on December 11.

CHURCH SERVICE Tulliallan and Kincardine Parish’s morning service on Christmas Eve will start at 11am.

The watchnight service is from 11pm and both will be led by the Rev Alex Shuttlewor­th.

Tea and coffee will be served at both. The Young Church meets at 11am.

CHURCH SERVICE Cupar’s Baptist Church will have a fun family service with puppets and drama from 10.30am on Sunday.

The town’s Old Parish Church will have Christmas Eve services starting at 5pm and 11.30pm.
