Landscape gardener’s trailer stolen while he was on holiday

-

A businessman has been left furious after arriving home from holiday to find his £4,000 trailer has been stolen.

David Anderson, 56, returned to his home on Lamond Drive in St Andrews following a week’s break in Tenerife to discover his trailer, purchased just two months ago, had gone.

The trailer is used as part of his landscape gardening business, Four Seasons.

The theft has left him unable to work.

The trailer, an Ifor Williams model, had clear Four Seasons logos on it, with David adding: “I was on holiday last week, and when I came back, the trailer just wasn’t there.

“One of my neighbours said that he had noticed it was gone around December 12 but had not phoned the police as he did not know if it had been stolen or not.

“Lamond Drive is a really busy road in St Andrews, so the thieves had to be very brave and knew what they were doing to steal something from here.

“It must have been stolen in the dead of night for them to get away with it.

“There would also have had to be at least two people there to get the trailer off the van – it would have taken them some time.

“There is nothing worse than coming home from a lovely holiday and having to deal with phoning police and insurance.

“I put an appeal on social media. A taxi driver responded saying he thinks he has seen the trailer being driven erratically.

“It’s just concerning as it has been gone for some time now – it could be in London for all we know.”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said they were investigating.
