Dundee athletes Jamie Crowe (Central AC) and Kristian Jones (Dundee Hawkhill) head the East of Scotland senior men’s team for the Scottish Inter-District Championsh­ips incorporat­ed within the Great Edinburgh Cross-Country on Saturday January 13. Crowe, home on holiday from Lamar University, Texas, has been training with Welsh internatio­nalist Jones in Dundee and the pair duly finished first and second in the recent East of Scotland Cross-Country Championsh­ips at Livingston. Twenty-seven Courier Country athletes feature in the East teams to take on West, North and Scottish Universiti­es. Fife AC’s Annabel Simpson represents Scottish Universiti­es while the men’s students team features Logan and Tristan Rees (both Fife AC) and James Donald (Dundee Hawkhill). The East selections are: senior men – J Crowe (Central), K Jones (Dundee Hawkhill), B Potrykus (Pitreavie). U17 men – R Sparks (Fife AC), K Hornyik (Dundee Hawkhill), I McWhinnie (Fife AC), R Donald (Dundee Hawkhill). U15 boys – B Sandilands (Fife AC), P Scott (Fife AC), L Dow (Pitreavie), C Gourley (Pitreavie), B Henderson (Perth Strathtay H.). U13 boys – S Bennet (Fife AC), A Douglas (Perth Strathtay), W Lorente (Dundee Hawkhill). Senior women – H Rees (Fife AC), U17 women – E Jenkins (Perth Strathtay H.), Z Nicholson (Pitreavie). U15 girls – A Hedley (Fife AC), D Cumming (Dunfermlin­e T & F), S Coutts (Pitreavie), A Dalglish (Fife AC).
