Prime hoggets among livestock in sale ring

Caledonian Marts Ltd in Stirling had forward 2,260 prime hoggets, ewes and tups. A total of 1,714 hoggets averaged 181p (-8p OTW) (+15.5p OTY). Top price went to Doune Farms for a 46kg Beltex at £97 which also topped the ppk at 211p.

Lawrie & Symington, Forfar, had forward 28 prime cattle, one OTM and 948 prime sheep. Prime cattle: Bullocks (nine) sold to a top of 248ppk for a 611kg Limousin from Nethermyres to average 2.26ppk. Heifers (19) sold to a top of 264ppk for a 534kg Limousin from Nethermyres to average 2.40ppk.
