Water works to cause disruption

-

Residents of Wormit are being warned of possible disruption when work begins on local water pipes next week.

Scottish Water will have crews working on two outfall pipes near Riverside Road from Monday onwards

The work on the shore, next to two properties on Riverside Road, is expected to take around three weeks to complete, although this will depend on the tides.

The first phase will involve extending one outfall pipe by six metres to meet the watermark, as well as the construction of a concrete surround.

The second existing outfall pipe and manhole cover will then be replaced.

Access to work locations on the shore will be from the site compound located on Woodhaven Pier.

Scott Fraser, Scottish Water’s corporate affairs regional manager, has warned people that the nature of the work could result in some noise but said teams would do all they could to minimise the impact on locals.

“During the work there may be some disruption due to construction noise and machinery accessing the site,” he said.

“We will do all we can to keep disruption to a minimum – however, some aspects of this work is tide dependent and could be subject to delays.

“We’d like to thank the local community in advance for their patience and understanding whilst this essential work is carried out.”
