The shockwaves of a lorry driver’s actions rippled through the central belt after an overturned lorry forced the closure of the Forth Road Bridge. The HGV blew over around 2am yesterday after the driver tried to cross during high winds, apparently ignoring signs that the bridge was closed to highsided vehicles. Damage has been caused to the bridge’s central reservation and while nobody was injured, the pain was felt by thousands as the bridge remained closed for most of yesterday.
