Police get ready to launch coffee shop consultations
Police in Glenrothes hope a local coffee shop can play a crucial part in preventing trouble from brewing.
In an initiative launching later this month, officers will meet members of the public in a branch of Costa Coffee, in the town’s Kingdom Shopping Centre.
The first session will be held at noon on Tuesday January 30, with further two-hour sessions planned every month.
Sergeant Chris Mutter from Glenrothes Police Station said: “We understand that we need to be flexible so that we can engage with the diverse communities that live in our area, and it is hoped that by meeting with local officers in this way people will feel comfortable coming to discuss their views in an informal setting.”
