Po­lice get ready to launch cof­fee shop con­sul­ta­tions

Po­lice in Glen­rothes hope a lo­cal cof­fee shop can play a cru­cial part in pre­vent­ing trou­ble from brew­ing.

In an ini­tia­tive launch­ing later this month, of­fi­cers will meet mem­bers of the pub­lic in a branch of Costa Cof­fee, in the town’s King­dom Shop­ping Cen­tre.

The first ses­sion will be held at noon on Tues­day Jan­uary 30, with fur­ther two-hour ses­sions planned ev­ery month.

Sergeant Chris Mut­ter from Glen­rothes Po­lice Sta­tion said: “We un­der­stand that we need to be flex­i­ble so that we can en­gage with the di­verse com­mu­ni­ties that live in our area, and it is hoped that by meet­ing with lo­cal of­fi­cers in this way peo­ple will feel com­fort­able com­ing to dis­cuss their views in an in­for­mal set­ting.”
