Hill of Beath sign Allan from Pars

Haws add midfielder to squad for home game with Lochee United

- by Peter Rundo

Hill of Beath will have a new face in their squad for today’s game against Lochee United after they signed midfielder Paul Allan from Dunfermline Athletic yesterday.

Haws will, however, be without Lee Reid, Calum Adamson and Rikki Dair.

The Bluebells will be pleased that prospects for the game at Keirs Park look good as they are desperate to see competitive action with next week’s Scottish Cup tie against East Kilbride in mind.

Manager George Shields is without Kevin Buchan and Bryan Deasley.

Dundonald Bluebell hope to bounce back from last week’s defeat to Penicuik and have a full squad for the visit of Broxburn who come boosted by last week’s demolition of Forfar West End.

With a trip to Bonnyrigg Rose, Jeanfield Swifts couldn’t have a harder task.

The Lothian side are unbeaten and last week’s 5-1 win over Kennoway Star Hearts took them to the top of the table.

Other than suspended player/coach John Anderson, Swifts have a full squad.

Disappointed by consecutive defeats to Thornton Hibs and Dunbar, St Andrews boss Craig Morrison is looking for his side to make the most of back to back home games in the Premier League, starting with Blackburn United today.

Scott Mayne returns for Saints, but Liam McDaid is carrying an injury, while Ben Anthony has been transferred to Thornton Hibs.

Tayport’s win over Kirrie Thistle last week kept them in the promotion frame, and they will need a repeat of that success when they face another Thistle this week at Bathgate.

Port are without Gregor Anderson due to work commitments as well as the recently-departed Spanish duo of Dani Sanches and Sergio Alvarez who have returned to Tenerife.

Anthony is in line to make his debut when Thornton entertain Dalkeith Thistle, though a 9.15am inspection has been arranged.

The Lothian side this week announced their intention to follow Kelty Hearts’ lead and join the East of Scotland League next season. That will, of course, impact the relegation issue where normally four clubs go down.

Meanwhile, Glenrothes, who are only four points off the drop zone, have a difficult assignment, with third-placed Haddington their visitors. Boss Willie Campbell is without Callum Kinnes and Craig Wallace, though both are showing signs of improvement.

On the plus side, Kirrie Thistle got back on the goal trail at Tayport last week, but, despite scoring twice, they still lost. Thistle are six points from safety and desperately need to take something from the visit of Musselburgh, but, as they are the unbeaten league leaders, that will be easier said than done.

As Fauldhouse’s pitch is in a poor state, their home game with Dunbar United has been switched to Tranent.
