The Coronation
(BBC1, 8pm-9pm)
’I’ve seen one Coronation, and been the recipient in another, which is pretty remarkable,’ says The Queen herself in this fascinating documentary, which is being broadcast to celebrate the 65th anniversary of her ascension to the throne. She also looks back at her father, George VI’s coronation, which took place when she was 11 years old during a rare TV interview in which she recalls her memories of both occasions. Her Majesty is chatting to royal historian Alastair Bruce, who is also on hand to explain the significance of the Crown Jewels and Royal Regalia.
