My style

NAME: Olivia Caira AGE: 17 OCCUPATION: volunteer and trainee health adviser FROM: Kirkcaldy

My style is quite casual and relaxed day-to-day, but I do like to dress up if I’m going out. I love the Studio 54 vibe, Diana Ross in the ‘70s is my style icon! Michael Jackson is actually a huge fashion inspiration, I dressed up as him at Halloween! I wore this amazing military jacket from Zara, it’s black and gold, and I teamed it with black tuxedo trousers with a red stripe down the side of the leg. I’d also wear it with leather trousers or leggings, and buckled boots if I was going out. After I got the jacket I saw one of the royals – I think it was one of the princesses – wearing it. I’m so glad I already had it because it probably sold out! The jacket I’m wearing is so warm, though, it’s perfect on a freezing day like this.

CHRISTINA SAYS

Olivia’s cosy jacket is perfect for these cold winter days – it would be especially snuggly first thing in the morning when it’s hard to get out of bed! The jacket looks great as Olivia has worn it, with jeans – comfy and warm for the weekend – but it could also be smartened up for the office by wearing it open with a blanket scarf, layered over a wool maxi dress. A leather tote bag and tall suede boots would finish the work wear look. Sparkle isn’t just for the festive season, it also looks great come spring.

New Look has some serious bargains, including a pair of nude pointed courts in pink suede, with crystals embellished on the back of the heel – just £7!

Dune has a great sale just now, with around 50% off; they’ve got racks of glittery shoes including sandals, court shoes, and peep-toes, all in pastel hues such as blush pink, champagne, silver and rose gold.

Finally, Schuh is worth visiting for a sparkly shoe: they have ombre glitter heels (not on sale but only £35) that start off pink at the heel and degrade to silver or gold at the toe – Cinderella would be proud.

I love the Studio 54 vibe, Diana Ross in the ‘70s is my style icon!
