Care home now rated very good
A Glenrothes care home is celebrating a glowing report from inspectors three years after being slated as weak.
Lomond Court Nursing Home’s standards of care and support and management and leadership were rated as very good by the Care Inspectorate.
It was praised for the management’s “open door policy”, leading to positive relationships, and the caring nature of staff.
Carol Reid, manager of the HC-One home, said: “We are delighted with this report, which is a testament to the hard work that each and every member of the team puts in, day in day out.”
HC-One managing director, Elizabeth Roscoe, said: “This rating is great news.
“I would like to thank the whole team for their commitment and hard work, and congratulate them on this impressive report.”
In March 2015 inspectors found a weak standard of care and management and voiced concerns about medication administration, fluid intake monitoring, skin care and heavy reliance on agency staff.
The latest report said management had continued to build on improvements and had maintained a homely environment.
It also said the service benefited from a low staff turnover, allowing continuity, training and development, and staff knew residents very well and communicated in a friendly, respectful way.
