Milne fires hat-trick as Vics thrash Scone

Steven Milne scored a hat-trick for Arbroath Vics as they began the year with a fine 4-1 win at home to Scone Thistle.

Milne put his side in front after 10 minutes before making it 2-0 after half-time.

Arran McKay pulled one back for Scone on 52 minutes only for Josh Chalmers to restore the two-goal lead on 57 minutes and Milne went on to complete his treble to secure the win for Vics.

Dundee Violet enjoyed a 3-0 win at home to Coupar Angus in a game switched to Glenesk Park.

Bradie Heggie headed Violet in front after four minutes and Cammy Black doubled the advantage before Gavin Thomson made sure of the points with a third just after the break.

Dundee North End dished out a thrashing to Kinnoull at North End Park.

Ryan Smith got his side on the way after 17 minutes and Nat Scott made it two from the penalty spot.

Scott made it three before Frankie Devine scored a fourth on the half-hour.

Scott completed his hat-trick on 38 minutes as North End went in at the break leading 5-0.

Ryan Rigden made it six 10 minutes after half-time and Scott hit another before Gary Archibald completed the rout with six minutes left.

Lochore Welfare led 2-0 after 16 minutes but had to settle for a draw against Newburgh at home.

Joe Kinninmont­h put Welfare in front on 14 minutes and Dean Ewing made it 2-0.

Newburgh pulled a goal back just after the half-hour before equalising on 68 minutes, both strikes coming from Anesu Tabengwa.

Lochee Harp are in something of a slump of late and Phil McGuire’s young Brechin Vics took full advantage, tearing apart their hosts at Downfield Park.

Vics won 6-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Scott Black, goals from Connor Mitchell, Liam Bailay and an own goal.

Lloyd Young pulled a goal back for Harp.

Crossgates Primrose took the bragging rights over Oakley United, running out 3-0 winners at Humbug Park.

Andy Watt and Dale Allan put Primrose 2-0 in front before Mark McKenzie made sure with a third.

Kirkcaldy YM took the lead at home to Stoneyburn but went on to lose 2-1 in the basement clash at Denfield Park.

Kyle Paterson put YM in front but the visitors came back after the break and equalised through Mark Mooney before Sean Tidser hit the winner 10 minutes from time.

Rosyth lost 7-0 at home to Harthill Royal.
