Man terrorised his former partner
A Fife man has had his jail term increased for causing a disturbance at his former partner’s home.
Grant Pithie, 36, who is from Rosyth but is now imprisoned, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He previously admitted that on May 29 at Woodside Avenue, Rosyth, he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, demanding entry to the house and shouting offensive remarks at ex-partner Lisa Marie Duff.
He also threw a plastic bat at a window.
Pithie also admitted failing to appear for a court hearing in September.
The court was told he started banging on Ms Duff’s door at around 10pm. He was swearing and shouting: “Who’s in the house? I’ve been sitting in the back garden for hours and I heard someone going up the stairs.”
Police were contacted and when cautioned and charged Pithie said: “I never said any rude words. I never kicked at the door, all I did was bang on the door. She knew fine well I was coming over.”
Sheriff Charles MacNair told Pithie: “It was no business of yours who may have been in the premises and this must have been alarming for your ex-partner.”
The court heard Pithie’s earliest release date had been March 27.
He was jailed for another 140 days, to be served consecutive to his current sentence.
