Murray and Robb in form for pro teams

-

Former Musketeers Gareth Murray and Hannah Robb were both prominent for Scotland’s pro teams in weekend clashes.

After a disappointing loss to Surrey Scotchers, Commonwealth Gamesbound Murray hit a strong 27 points for Glasgow Rocks in their away win over his former club Plymouth Raiders, which keeps them in third spot in the BBL table.

Robb top-scored with 18 points, her best performance yet for Caledonia Pride, as they fought back against Team Northumbria in the WBBL at Oriam. But in the end Pride just could not find the winner and went down 63-62.

Robb had three three-pointers, seven rebounds, an assist and three steals in a lively display but overall coach Bart Sengers was most unhappy with the team’s display, just a week before the WBBL Cup final in Birmingham.

Tayside Musketeers, meanwhile, strolled to a comfortable 69-22 away win over West Lothian Wolves in the Scottish Women’s League to stay in fourth place.

Yhana Van Wees had 30 points and 17 rebounds for Muskies with Cara Black adding 10 points and Kat Martin 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Dunfermline Reign’s hopes of a top-four spot in the play-offs took a knock when they went down 80-77 away to Glasgow University, who fought back from 15 points down.

Craig Ferguson had 28, Eric Potts 16 and Jake Sirrell 15 for Reign.
