Dundee has apparently no “food hogs” within its borders. The week during which persons were invited by Lord Rhondda to disgorge surplus food stocks expires today, but the authorities in Dundee have received no intimation of any “surrendering” of goods. There have been many inquiries as to what amount constitutes hoarding, but no specific answer can be given on this point owing to the indefiniteness of the Order. A large number of citizens get supplies of tea from friends in India.

One of Dundee’s biggest-ever football days is here. Two big cup ties, overlapping in the same street, Invasion from West and South. Anticipation and expectation in the air – and a bit of frustration too. For most fans wanted to see both ties fully, but you have to pay your money and make your choice. If it’s Tannadice, it’s perhaps a bit less glamorous, but still full of interest as United play Hearts.

Roy attended with his wife Fiona and two of his four children, Daniel and Benjamin.

Education services could bear the brunt of £34 million-worth of budget cutbacks, it has emerged. Dozens of teaching posts are under threat as Perth and Kinross Council attempts to slash spending over the next two years. Changes to class sizes could see the loss of around 24 maths and English teachers, while primary school swimming lessons also face the chop. Other options being considered are cuts of nearly £500,000 to contracted cleaning and janitorial services.
