At a meeting of the office-bearers of the West United Free Church, Broughty Ferry last night – the Rev Crawford Smith presiding – a letter was read from the Rev. G.E. Troup resigning his position as minister of the congregation. In his letter Mr Troup stated that he had intended to take this step in 1014, but on the outbreak of war he felt that his duty was to remain. He was now fully convinced that in the interests of the congregation and himself his retirement should no longer be postponed.

Dundee FC has confirmed plans to move from its historic Dens Park stadium. The club is eyeing a custom-built ground on land that was recently purchased near Camperdown Park. A land use application will be submitted to Dundee City Council imminently, according to managing director John Nelms. He revealed the plan as the club’s annual accounts were released, which showed a £500,000 loss, £200,000 of which was due to ground maintenance.
