Kelso hit by waterlogging

Kelso’s meeting was abandoned yesterday due to a waterlogged track.

The fixture, which had been rearranged after snow forced its cancellation last Saturday, was due to feature the Grade Two Premier Kelso Novices’ Hurdle and the Listed Premier Chase.

However, following a 10am inspection, clerk of the course Anthea Morshead said the track was unraceable after heavy rain.

She tweeted: “Very sad to report racing (has been) abandoned due to waterlogging. Eight millimetres of rain since early hours, and current heavy rain forecast to continue for most of the day.”
