Bollan frustrated but says Blue Brazil ‘not giving anything up’

-

Cowdenbeath will head to Edinburgh City with a sense of frustration after Saturday’s game with Montrose was called off.

While they were idle the Ainslie Park side defeated Annan 3-2 to move 15 points clear of the bottom-placed Fifers.

Manager Gary Bollan said: “It was frustrating that the Central Park pitch failed a second pitch inspection as a lot of work had gone into trying to get it ready.

“It is also frustrating as we want to play games as we have plenty still to achieve this season. Winning this game would give us a lift as it has been so long since the club tasted success, and it would be my first win as the manager here. Hearing that Edinburgh City won added to that sense of frustration,” he added

Despite going seven months without a league success Bollan refuses to rule out catching Edinburgh City ,or indeed Berwick Rangers.

He said: “If we can get that first win in this game then we have a chance.

“We will take confidence from it and, with games coming thick and fast, one win could become two very quickly and that could start alarm bells ringing elsewhere.

“We are not for giving anything up.”

Skipper Scott Rumsby will be back in the Blue Brazil ranks after a ban. Goalkeeper Joe McGovern remains out.
