Cash windfall for groups
Fife groups are celebrating a cash windfall.
Three have all been successful in securing National Lottery Awards for All Scotland funding which makes grants to voluntary and community groups.
Across Scotland groups are sharing in more than £767,000 of funding to set up and develop projects run for and by local people.
In Fife £2,600 from the Big Lottery Fund will go to Burnturk and Kettlehill Community Trust.
This will enable a feasibility study to be carried out to look into renovations of the Jubilee Hall.
This community-owned facility provides a social, cultural and educational hub but is in need of repairs to both the main building and extension.
Colinsburgh Galloway Library Trust will receive £10,000 from the fund.
It will be used to renovate and develop the well used facility run by the charity for the benefit of the community.
Meanwhile Glenrothes Strollers Community Club is celebrating a £7,500 grant from SportScotland.
The group delivers footballing activities for young people with disabilities.
The money will be used to develop activities and support other community clubs.
An Awards for All spokesperson said: “What is clear is that the smallest amount of funding can often make the biggest difference to people’s lives.”
