Third person accused over offensive video
Allegations that footage was put online 10 years after woman’s death
A third person has appeared in court accused of posting an offensive video mocking the killing of Fife woman Sonya Todd on the 10th anniversary of her death.
Aileen Greig-Reid, 28, from Dunfermline, appeared on petition at the town’s sheriff court yesterday.
It is alleged that on March 22 in an address in Dunfermline they conducted themselves in a disorderly manner by uploading to the internet an offensive video portraying the killing of Sonya Todd.
She made no plea and was committed for further examination. She was granted bail.
Earlier this week, Amanda Britt, 32 and David Kinloch, 34, appeared on petition at the same court and were also granted bail.
Mother-of-one Sonya Todd, 21, was killed in Methil in March 2008 after a horrific assault which lasted up to five hours and involved her being hit by a dog lead.
Shocked neighbours found her body in her home in Stewart Court.
They said she was almost unrecognisable because of the assault, which also saw her punched, kicked and bitten.
Her injuries were so extensive, pathologists said they were unable to individually list the bruises she had sustained in the five-hour attack.
Tracey Braithwaite, a neighbour and friend who found Ms Todd said at the time: “Sonya was a tiny, delicate wee thing and was really quiet, but polite.”
Aileen Greig-Reid, Amanda Britt and David Kinloch are all expected to make further court appearances in connection with the charge at a later date.
