There’s much to discover in the City of Discovery

-

Dundee is rapidly changing and there’s never been a better time to get to know this transforming city than now.

Take a stroll along the waterfront and take in the impressive new V&A Museum as it prepares to open later this year, or take the time to stop and find out about Dundee’s history of exploration at Discovery Point just next door.

Head for the city centre and keep an eye out for some of the iconic characters from Dundee’s famous comics.

Dundee Science Centre is the perfect place to spend a rainy day, with plenty of opportunities to find out about the world and how it works.

The city boasts a spectacular location on the banks of the River Tay and there is no better place to appreciate its situation than from the top of the Law. Tire the kids out and amaze them with the views over the river and its iconic bridges.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, head for Camperdown Park, where you might want to take the kids for a picnic, enjoy the fantastic play facilities or visit the animals in Camperdown Zoo.

Make a beeline for the McManus Galleries where there is plenty for curious minds to explore, or find out more about the history of Dundee’s Jute Industry at the Verdant Works.

From Saturday March 31, The Verdant Works will also be home to an exhibition of work by local artist Laura Darling whose first solo exhibition, Patterns of Migration focusses on the lives of women who have come to call Dundee their home. Younger visitors will also enjoy an Easter Bunny Trail running at the venue this weekend.
