Good week for Lower Tay

-

The Lower Tay had another reasonable week.

The lowest beat down the river that had success was at Stanley.

Just below, Upper Scone had a couple of fish off the Pitlochrie beat caught from the boat on Tuesday.

Stobhall had fish caught on most days, as did Taymount with nine fish between the beats. Ballathie had a single fish, a superb 26lb caught by David Windsor.

Islamouth had 11 fish, while Upper Islamouth and Meikleour had five fish.

The Middle river enjoyed good water conditions. Kercock had a single fish, a 27lb beauty caught by Angus Carruthers from the boat. There were fish off both Murthly beats and Glendelvine.

On Thursday the Murthly 2 beat had a 28lb fish. Dunkeld House finished with four in the week. Dalguise had a couple on Wednesday, while the Kinnaird beats are catching on a regular basis.

The Upper area featured last week, with fish recorded on the Findynate and Edradynate. John Paberz also caught on the upper river at Logierait catching a 16lb fish on the Perth and District beat.

Loch Tay is also seeing sport with Fish ’n’ Trips recording one weighing 24lb caught by Brian Walker.

The Tummel had one reported last week from the Pitlochry Angling Club stretch at Portnacraig.

The class of fish caught continues to be outstanding, and the coming week should see improved catches with a settled forecast.
