See humbled by support after leg-break
Ousman See admits he has been overwhelmed by the support he has received, both financially and in words of encouragement, since his horrific injury at Montrose last weekend.
Berwick Rangers have launched a crowdfunding bid to raise cash for their stricken striker, who suffered a nightmare broken leg and dislocated ankle during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Links Park.
The match was delayed for 70 minutes as See was forced to wait on the Links Park pitch for nearly an hour for an ambulance to arrive.
The former Forfar marksman underwent an operation at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary on Tuesday and has been ordered to stay off his feet.
As a tiler to trade, the 23-year-old will be unable to work during that time, but has thanked Berwick for their efforts in attempting to raise £2,500 to see their player through the worst of his injury.
See said: “It is an unbelievable gesture from the club.
“I can’t put into words how thankful I am but they have definitely helped me a lot.
“The funding will help me with my home and car bills during the time I’m going to be off work and I really appreciate everyone who has contributed.
“When the tackle happened I knew straight away it was something serious because I looked down and my foot was sticking out in the wrong direction.”
