Bluebells pip Star in seven-goal thriller

Lochee United twice had to come from behind to win a seven-goal thriller against Newtongran­ge Star at Thomson Park.

Gordon Hunter headed the visitors ahead on 30 minutes but Greg Kirk replied for the Bluebells before the break.

Ryan Porteous gave Star the lead again after 56 minutes but Paddy Deane cancelled that out six minutes later.

Goals from Bryan Deasley and Kirk again put George Shields’ side in command before Stephen Scott pulled one back late on.

Callum Rarity and Lewis Elder were Haws’ other scorers with Gary Fergus and a Tony Holt penalty for Swifts.

A good week for Kennoway Star Hearts ended with them claiming a point from a 2-2 draw at home to Broxburn.

Hearts went ahead through Chris Gay, but it took a Dylan Muir leveller late on to earn a point.

Forfar West End’s exertions in their fourth game in eight days took their toll as they went down 3-1 to Camelon.

A Ross Crawford goal and a Ross Cameron double put the hosts three up before Graeme Hart pulled one back.
