Tough Bo’ness test for struggling Lochee United

-

Lochee United face a tough trip to in-form Bo’ness United this weekend.

Lochee were beaten 2-0 in midweek by Carnoustie and manager George Shields will be looking for his side to respond, although the Dundee side have struggled since exiting the Scottish Junior Cup to Auchinleck Talbot.

Shields takes a full squad to Newtown Park for the game but will delay naming his side until just before kick-off.

Carnoustie Panmure boss Alan McSkimming was delighted with the midweek win at Thomson Park but acknowledges this weekend’s game against Bonnyrigg Rose at Laing Park will be a tough one.

Jake Mair suffered a hamstring tweak against Lochee so he is a doubt but Steven Cook may be fit after missing the game in midweek.

The Gowfers have one eye on next weekend’s GA Engineering Cup final and may rotate their squad to rest tired legs.

Dundonald Bluebell have doubts over Scott Durie and Mark Forbes as they welcome Linlithgow Rose to Moorside Park.

Linlithgow still hold out slim hopes of taking the Super league title but in reality it would take a serious capitulation by Bonnyrigg for that to happen.

Bluebell are still in with a chance of a top three finish so an exciting game is envisaged.

If being firmly rooted to the bottom of the Super League was not bad enough, Forfar West End take on Sauchie this weekend missing 11 players through injury or suspension.

Manager Daryl McKenzie is one of the suspensions and is joined by Robbie George, which leaves him having to rely on trialists to be able to put a side out this weekend.

Broughty Athletic manager Jamie McCunnie will be looking for a reaction from his side following last weekend’s heavy defeat to Bonnyrigg Rose as they travel to Keirs Park to take on Hill Of Beath. McCunnie was without five first teamers last weekend and hopes to have some of them back, however Derryn Kesson and Kieran McWalter are both suspended.

Hill of Beath’s Kevin Fotheringham expects to have the same squad available that won 2-0 at Kennoway in midweek.

Kennoway Star Hearts face Penicuik Athletic at Treaton Park and like other teams are struggling with injuries and the intense programme.

Hearts player/manager Craig Johnstone is without Nicky McGowan, Mark Partridge and Ross Mutch while Ross Brewster, Scott Young and leading scorer Matthew Gay are all rated as doubtful.
