Driver cut free after A9 crash near Gleneagles
A crash closed part of the A9 near Gleneagles golf course yesterday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the route at around 1.40pm.
Police said a driver had lost control of his vehicle and rolled it on the road, trapping himself inside.
The motorist was cut free by firefighters. The extent of his injuries was not known, but his condition was not believed to be life-threatening.
Traffic Scotland said the southbound carriageway between Aberuthven and Gleneagles was closed for about two hours, resulting in heavy traffic.
The route was reopened just after 4pm.
Meanwhile, a man is in hospital with serious injuries after a car crash in Aberdeenshire.
The 22-year-old was driving a white Mazda 3 when it was involved in an accident with a grey Landrover Discovery near Hardyards, Mintlaw, on Saturday.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where police said he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The 62-year-old woman driving the Landrover was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash which happened on the A952 Fraserburgh to Mintlaw road at about 10.35pm.
Sergeant Andrew Meikleham said: “Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are at an early stage and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle prior to the incident to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
