Be sure to cash in on Carr star Sovereign Debt

RACING: Nine-year-old can put return behind him on drop in class at Windsor

- THE FERRET

SOVEREIGN DEBT can get the ball rolling again as he takes a drop in class for the Weatherbys Racing Bank Supporting Mental Health Foundation Stakes at Windsor.

The nine-year-old has been a true star for Ruth Carr, notching up two Group race wins as well as being placed at Pattern level on numerous other occasions last term.

He signed off with a fair fourth at Group Three level at Newmarket last October but was found lacking on his return this year, beating only two home in the Sandown Mile, a race he had won in 2017.

However, Sovereign Debt is that bit older now and he looked thoroughly in need of the outing with all but a couple of the field already having had a run this term.

While he travelled well, Sovereign Debt did not enjoy a dream route so it would be fair to expect a good bit of progress from that effort.

The conditions of this race give him upwards of 3lb advantage and it will be disappointing if he cannot capitalise on that.

ZZORO is not the most reliable of horses, but it would be dangerous to dismiss his chances in the K&L Gates Supporting Mental Health Foundation Handicap. He only narrowly failed to prevail over this course and distance last month and he is certainly rated to win when the mood strikes.

Zzoro can complete a double for Amanda Perrett, whose Open Wide is the pick in the Sky Bet Extra Place Races Handicap.

PACIFIC FLEET can finally open his account in the Racing Welfare Mental Health Awareness Week Novice Stakes at Catterick.

Previously trained by Archie Watson, he posted his most eyecatching performance when third to Wells Farhh Go at York last July, with the winner on course to test his Classic credentials in the Dante later this week.

Pacific Fleet is clearly not of that calibre and this might be his best of opportunity of a victory as he can put his experience to good use. SELECTIONS CATTERICK: 2.00 Dancing On A Dream, 2.30 Bertie Moon, 3.05 Pacific Fleet, 3.35 Brockholes, 4.10 Ice Galley, 4.40 Meshardal, 5.10 Zapper Cass.

WINDSOR: 5.20 Airmax, 5.50 Dancing Speed, 6.20 Open Wide, 6.50 SOVEREIGN DEBT (NAP), 7.20 Nautical Mile, 7.50 Zzoro, 8.20 Trogon.

DOUBLE: Sovereign Debt and Pacific Fleet.
