Burgh wrap up league title with victory over Dalkeith

-

Musselburgh secured the Premier League title with a 3-0 win at home to Dalkeith Thistle

Downfield led three times at Arniston Rangers but eventually had to settle for a point from a 3-3 draw.

The Dundee side took the lead on 35 minutes until Scott Wright looked to be sending the sides in at half-time level with an equaliser on 42 minutes.

Downfield restored their lead with 30 seconds of the first half remaining.

Downfield looked to have won the game on 78 minutes when they went 3-1 in front but late goals from Dylan Weldon on 80 minutes and Stephen Woods on 87 minutes earned the home side an unlikely point

Willie Campbell admitted that his Glenrothes side is running on empty and he needs to nurse them through to the end of the season despite an impressive 2-0 win at home to Dunbar United.

The goals for Glens came from Conor Schaivone and Lee Celentano.

Tayport took the bragging rights over neighbours St Andrews at Barnetts Park as Charlie King’s men ran out 4-0 winners.

Jamie Gill was the chief tormentor for the visitors and it was Gill who put Tayport in front on 22 minutes when he converted a pass from Stewart McConnachie.

McConnachie made it 2-0 10 minutes later and Dayle Robertson headed home a Fraser Anderson corner for the third. Gill bagged a fourth on 50 minutes, heading home an Alan Tulleth cross.
