Neave hat-trick sees Blair seal victory over Coupar

-

Blairgowrie and Coupar Angus shared seven goals at Davie Park on Saturday and it was Mark Brash’s home side that took the points.

Coupar Angus goals came courtesy of Euan McIlvenney and a brace from Lee Maloney while a Darren Neave hat-trick along with a Gary Axworthy effort saw Blairgowrie home.

Luncarty all but secured second place behind champions North End with a 5-0 win at Brechin Vics, for whom the season cant end soon enough.

It would take a massive capitulation by Jonny Kelly’s side, who would need to lose their last two games conceding 13 more goals, not to finish as runners-up.

Callum Kirkcaldy, Martin Maher, Sean Fergus and Danny Dobie were on target for Luncarty alongside an own goal

Luncarty’s cause was helped by rivals for the runners up place, Violet, losing 3-2 at home to East Craigie, as the visitors extended their run to 11 straight wins.

Nik Mann, Aiden Benvie and James Malone were on target for the visitors with Craig Batchelor and David O’Neill scoring for Violet.

Lochee Harp enjoyed a 4-1 win at home to Newburgh but they were made to work for it by the visitors.

Newburgh led through a Jamie Gay strike after 10 minutes before goals from Sam McDonald, Josh McLaughlin and a Lloyd Young won it for Harp.
