Hi-tech at Cereals 18
All the latest equipment, drones, robots and arable accessories will be on show at Cereals 18 next month.
More than 20,000 farmers are expected to attend the event at Chrishall Grange, Duxford, Cambridgeshire on June 13-14.
Practical seminars on the first day will include advice on sustainable soil health and nutrition, artificial intelligence and the action farmers need to take to safeguard the industry’s continued use of the herbicide, glyphosate.
Other seminars will focus on emerging chemical and mechanical weed control strategies and advice on the impact of herbicide resistance.
Innovation is the focus of the second day, with a session devoted to the impact of potential regulatory changes, variety choices and increased resistance to fungicides.
Politicians and industry experts will also be in attendance at debates which will look at life without subsidies and whether a more diverse range of crops should be grown in future to meet the challenges of climate change and the needs of consumers.
AHDB leaders will preside over a discussion around increasing farm business productivity and benchmarking to measure success.
The Institute of Agricultural Engineers will be at the heart of a debate on how farmers can demonstrate their environmental and social responsibility to a wider public.
A final debate will look at alternative solutions to owning and running large arable machinery.
