Fairer Fife mural on the move

-

The Fairer Fife Mural is once again on tour thanks to the community payback team.

The mural, created by children from Balcurvie, Denbeath, East Wemyss and Kennoway primary schools, is making its way to the north of Fife with help from the team, who are moving on from offending behaviour by giving back to the community while learning new skills.

With colourful, eye-catching drawings, the mural shows how more than 150 children see their communities and what they think could be better.

After it was unveiled a few years ago, it went on a tour of Fife schools.

Since September the mural has been on show in Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, but is about to move again to St Andrews Hospital.

Helen Melvin, PPP operational contract manager at the hospital, said “We’re delighted to have the mural in the hospital over the next few weeks.

“It’s a visually inspiring, thought-provoking piece and something that should really invoke debate about the fairness of our communities.

“We would also like to thank the community payback team.

“With the spirit of fairness, it’s great to be able to see people given a chance to give back to the community and we’re very grateful for their help.”

The mural will be at the hospital until May 28 and will then continue its tour of Fife, moving to Glenrothes.
