McConachie given six-goal send-off

-

Coupar Angus said goodbye to boss Logan McConachie with a 6-2 win over Brechin Vics at Foxhall Park.

Murray Irvine put the home side in front on 11 minutes and Lee Maloney made it 2-0 three minutes later.

Stuart Banks scored a third on the half-hour before Joe Sturrock made it 4-0 on 37 minutes.

Vics pulled a goal back on 56 minutes through Conor Coupe but Banks hit his second to make it 5-1 just two minutes later. Vics managed a second goal through Liam Bailey with 10 minutes left but it was no more than a consolation.

Luncarty ended their season in second place after an emphatic 5-0 win at Lochore Welfare.

Robbie Miller put the Bleachers in front after a minute and Richard Doig made it 2-0 after just three minutes. Sean Fergus scored the third and fourth on 63 and 67 minutes before a collector’s item from Sean Burton made it 5-0 with four minutes to go.

Scone Thistle have been idle for nearly three weeks but showed no signs of rustiness as they beat Lochee Harp 3-1 at Downfield Park.

Aaron Carlon helped himself to a hat-trick for Scone, scoring on 22, 82 and 85 minutes.

Harp managed a consolation in stoppage time but it was a Scone boot that turned the ball in.

Crossgates Primrose will not complete life as a junior club in the top five of the South League after they went down to Armadale Thistle at Volunteer Park.

Armadale scored twice in the last 10 minutes of the first half to lead 2-0 at the break.

When Andy Watt pulled a goal back on 55 minutes it looked like Crossgates could go on and at least get a point, but it wasn’t to be and the hosts held out to take all three points to guarantee themselves a top three position and top spot among the clubs that are not leaving.

Lochgelly can still overtake Crossgates after they drew 1-1 with Stoneyburn but arguably should already be ahead of their Fife rivals had they held on for all three points.

Calum Geddes’ goal came with just two minutes remaining but there was still time for Stoneyburn to equalise in stoppage time through Paul Ogilvie.
